April 29, 2011 - here we are....PISA!
We thought the leaning tower is just one structure by itself. How wrong we were. It is walled in like a complex. On the day of our visit it was crowded with visitors from all over. The stalls along the side look like doing good business.
Actually the "complex" is known as the Cathedral Square and besides the leaning tower it also houses the Cathedral, the Baptistry and the monumental cemetery. One has to be there to see and to be with the crowd. See all the funny poses of the people trying to photograph themselves "holding up" the leaning tower.
My daughter trying to jump higher than the tower.
What a sight. If we do not see for ourselves the leaning tower, we would still think there is nothing much to see here. But then again we travelled so far just to see the leaning tower of Pisa.
