Earlier my daughter was wondering aloud how would her son grow up to be, disciplined, obedient or otherwise. But I know there are men who want their sons to grow up to be like them. To be a man.
What does it take to be a man? It is interesting to read the answers in the net. Overall a man is expected to be dependable. Most ladies feel this is important in a family - to provide and to protect. A man must not run away from his responsibilities - other than to provide food and protection to his family he is also expected to get involve in family chores. So it is not easy to be a married man (or woman either as both husband and wife are now usually working to make ends meet).
Have respect for others. Yes if you want respect from people you must respect others first. To be confident but not proud and vain.
To be weak or strong. I feel physical appearance is not so important as it is within, inner strength, that shows out. Accept and respect yourself and others because no one is perfect.
The list goes on. I do believe that our childhood, our past and experiences do affect us as we grow and with guidance we can grow to be a man. So guide your child along as he grows to be a man.
